The Basque Society of Victimology (SVV) is a scientific and non-profit society of professionals from different disciplines: Criminology, Psychology, Law, Medicine, Nursing, Social work, Education, Sociology, Anthropology, Political Science, History , Communication Sciences, Economics, Geography, Security, Emergencies ...
It is not an association of victims nor does it represent victims' associations. The SVV deals with the study of all types of victimization processes (primary, secondary; direct, indirect; diffuse; hidden ...), produced by abuse of power and international crimes, terrorism, homicides, injuries, sexual assaults, domestic violence , illicit trafficking, human trafficking, road violence, hate crimes, workplace harassment, school bullying, white collar crimes, etc., as well as the various forms of victimization in cyberspace. In addition, other forms of victimization that are not criminal, but caused by other traumatic events such as natural disasters, accidents, serious illnesses, suicides or conflicts outside the criminal sphere are also analyzed.
The ultimate goal is to provide rigorous information to citizens to design victim policies and help victims in their recovery and reparation.
The SVV is a founding member of the Spanish Society of Victimology, which is integrated into the World Society of Victimology

Programa
La Sociedad Vasca de Victimología, en su propósito de crear espacios para pensar juntos en torno a la perspectiva de la Victimología y desde las distintas disciplinas y enfoques, esta organizando el primer ciclo de CINE Y VICTIMOLOGÍA. Se celebrará en Intxaurrondo Kultur Etxea, a lo largo del mes de mayo. Adelantamos aquí el programa provisional.
